About The Event

Eric Farnsworth is a passionate believer in the strategic importance of the Western Hemisphere. Throughout his career, he has helped develop, shape, and interpret US policy across the full range of relevant issues. He is a frequent conference speaker and public commentator, consults widely with senior government and private sector representatives, and has directly advanced the policy agenda by offering Congressional testimony numerous times and publishing often in leading journals and media.


Mr. Farnsworth heads the Washington office of the Americas Society/Council of the Americas, the premier US institution focused on the region for almost 60 years. He is a strong proponent for regional democracy and plays a leading role across a range of issues including trade, investment, economic relations, energy, healthcare including pandemic relief, and Asia/LAC relations, among others. He is a longstanding, early observer of China's hemispheric engagement and implications for regional development, democracy, and US interests.
